Thursdays from 6-8PM*

February 11 - June 3

*No session April 22 due to school break

  • Students will play solo, chamber and orchestral music in live masterclasses and sectionals and in virtual performance projects.

  • Students will gain proficiency using open source Audacity recording software and will practice submitting recordings regularly.

  • Students will gain confidence in improvisation. Virtual sessions are ideal for developing improvisational skills and confidence, sometimes it's easier to be brave on mute!

  • Students will build their music portfolio, leaving the program with their final pieces compiled and published.

  • This is just the beginning! The PVS hopes to continue offering a virtual option even when we can return to live music, to better serve the diverse needs of our community.

Thursdays 6-8pm

February 11 - June 3, 2021

Students play, learn and grow during 16 fun and interactive sessions led by Chris Moehringer of the Community Music School of Springfield.

This is a robust youth music program intended to improve student musicianship and musical fluency during a time when in-person music making carries safety risks.

Activities include: music rehearsals, virtual recording projects, music history, theory, improvisation and masterclasses.

Open to all orchestral instrumentalists ages 8-18.
