Strings for Kids Classes (GPS ONLY)

Service Description

This is a program in partnership with the Greenfield Public Schools and is only open to GPS students. Classes meet weekly through the fall semester, starting September 11th Day and Time determined by School (Discovery School at Four Corners, Federal Street School, Greenfield Middle School, Newton School) Instructors: Julie Carew and Rafe Wolman **Tuition is NOT paid on this platform. Your registration confirmation email will direct you to your tuition payment page, or visit pvsoc.org/strings-for-kids.** We enroll new students in the Strings for Kids program from June to September. To prepare to participate in Strings for Kids in the fall, students must complete an introductory multi-day workshop. As the summer workshops have now closed, the remaining fall workshop is a weekend intensive Sept 9-10 to give students a chance to try out the violin or cello before committing. Tuition includes credit for one hour of private lessons, as we find students benefit greatly from focused follow-up instruction. Free instruments are provided to each student for the length of the program. **REGISTER FOR THE SEPTEMBER WORKSHOP HERE: https://www.pvsoc.org/strings-for-kids** During the school year, Strings for Kids requires a monthly tuition contribution, offered on a sliding scale of $20-60 per month. Tuition includes one weekly at-school group lesson, one Sunday ensemble session, as well as instrument rental and performances. $30 - SUSTAINABLE: The per-student cost to sustain this program. $20 - ACCESSIBLE: Discounted tuition to support access to music for all. $60 - EQUITABLE: Pay a bit more and help others with fewer resources to access this program.
