Experience an afternoon of transcendent beauty with two masterworks in one unforgettable concert. Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring evokes the American landscape with its warm, pastoral melodies and timeless simplicity. Then the afternoon culminates with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, a powerful and deeply moving plea for peace, interweaving texts from Walt Whitman, the Bible, and political speeches into a soaring choral masterpiece. This afternoon journeys through the PVS 87th season theme of hope, resilience, and the universal longing for harmony.
