Based in Massachusetts, violinist Elijah Wilson is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Starting through a public school program, he hopes to encourage others to pursue a musical path regardless of starting point. Elijah currently plays with the New England Repertory Orchestra, and freelances regularly throughout New England. Chamber Music remains his biggest musical interest. In the summers, he participates in the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. Seeking to challenge the racial identities associated with classical music, Elijah is committed to uncovering and performing works by underrepresented composers both past and present. His work both in and outside of music is centered around the social and financial barriers of entry that are prevalent in the arts.
